Line Shaft Conveyor
Line Shaft conveyor uses a shaft to transmit driving power to the rollers. The line shaft runs inside the conveyor frame parallel to the run of the conveyor. It uses elastic-polymer drive bands to transfer power from the spinning line shaft to the conveyor rollers.
Two advantages of line shaft conveyor.
- Accumulation is possible by simply stoping the product. The spool is designed to slip on the drive shaft when the product is stopped. The friction between the drive shaft and the spool is dependent on the tension of the elastic drive band (belt) and not on the product weight.
- A single motor can power long sections of conveyor including curves and accessories. Adding u-joints to the line shaft allows for curves and slight inclines.
